What is ILLUMIN-i?
Endure's patent-pending illumination module creates a homogeneous, brilliant red reflex and tremendous detail perception.  The ILLUMIN-i offers bicollimated light beams and multiple angles of delivery that enhance the optical view for surgeons.  Unlike traditional illumination systems, the ILLUMIN-i incorporates dual, zero-degree, collimated illumination as well as a third, oblique beam.

The ILLUMIN-i also features the "V-RED" adjustable shutter that gradually occludes the zero-degree illumination so each surgeon can set their perfect red reflex.
This combination results in a constant, "glowing" red reflex while maintaining contrast and depth of field.  With this technology, the surgeon perceives fine details and clarity like never before.  Even with small pupils, off-axis positioning and dense nucleus, the red reflex remains constant and bright.

The end result: true, optically coaxial, stereo illumination that provides a world class view.
"My vote, not only for Sightpath in our mobile vans, but also for our practice is to get the Endure microscope with the ILLUMIN-i.  The ILLUMIN-i is very forgiving of de-centration.  The quality of optics are less sensitive to de-centration.

Eye surgery is a visual sport.  Anything that lets you see better is advantageous and I see better with the ILLUMIN-i."

Dick Lindstrom, M.D. - Minneapolis, MN

The ILLUMIN-i is an innovative technology and incorporates a creative way to provide the best possible contrast, red reflex, depth perception and resolution.  The ILLUMIN-i allows the surgeon to visualize both the anterior and posterior capsule resulting in a safer procedure.

"The ILLUMIN-i offers us spectacular visualization of the ocular red reflex and of the crystalline lens during cataract surgery irrespective of pupil size or eye movement." Kerry K. Assil, M.D. - Beverly Hills, CA

Because of our unique illumination delivery system, the capsulorexis is obvious throughout capsular polishing and IOL insertion.  With the enhanced contrast and clarity, residual viscoelastic and cortical material are visible so the surgeon can perform a cleaner, more complete cataract removal.
